## Description

I am known for my landscape photography taken at some of the most beautyful places on the planet- and i absolutely love spending time at places like the Faroe islands or northern Norway. Shooting in my local homeground is completely different. 
The nature where i live lacks of the superlative features that these other places i mentioned have plenty of. 

Therefore it can take quite a while to find a way to capture something special here in the Rheinland region of Germany. 

I always dreamed of getting some of the winter conditions that i often shoot in northern Norway, at home. They happen only very, very rarely as the weather has changed here lately. In most winters there is no snow at all- and if it snows, it most often doesn´t cover the ground. Leaving the landscape looking rather dirty instead of making it shine like a winter wonderland. 

But earlier this year, in the middle of the pandemic, all of a sudden we got two days of real winter. I was instantly excited!
I cruised around, searching for one view that would make me happy- and remembered this tree. 

Once i reached the tree, i was mesmerized. There were my winter conditions. 
The tree stood out from the forest behind, covered in snow and frost. I knew i had found my local winter shot!

"Together alone" is a personal favorite image of mine. One that reminds me of my childhood when winters were still white and icy every year and i went out with my sled to the hills.
It reminds me that beauty can be found everywhere- sometimes it just takes a little longer to find it.

Technique: Single exposue with artistic postprocessing to enhance the mysterious winter mood.
