## Description

The survival of the herring gull in Venice is simply a demonstration of how human habitat change affects the bird, which proves to be intelligent, determined, and adaptive. The gull first stood on the sea, following boats, fishing boats, and waves to obtain the necessities needed for survival. Then it moved to land, attracted by landfills and city lights, even approaching heavily man-made environments such as airports.
