## Description

Why should we be “one” if we can be “many”?
What if we refuse to shape ourselves into a unique monolith holding our multiple “selves” behind?
One can’t help but wondering if the long-awaited, widely preached path of realization that we are meant to find is a “trap” instead. What if the losses outweight the gains?
Trying to be “this” or “that” for the sake of fulfilling one’s social existence is oftentimes self-betrayal. We would probably end up with multiple lives to live - and a fuller life as whole - if we didn’t have to find “who we really are” and stick to it.
One’s real life is often the life that one does not lead, Oscar Wilde said long ago.

Obviously, it is not wrong to strife to achieve one’s potential, to seek a purpose in life. We certainly need it to feel alive. What we do not need is to stop ourselves from being other that what that purpose (if we ever find one) tells about us.

What we do defines who we are. True. But so does what is yet to do and hasn’t been accomplished. Our other best versions of ourselves that lie behind, waiting to step forward, out into the light. The neglected ones, the unfulfilled ones…because their “gender” is not right, because they feel too old, because “that’s the way it is”, because “maybe … another time.
Rain check?”
