## Description

Selective Mutism is a complex childhood anxiety disorder characterized by a child's inability to speak and communicate effectively in select social settings, such as school. These children are able to speak and communicate in settings where they are comfortable, secure, and relaxed.

Selective Mutism can greatly disrupt the quality of life and school performance of children. In addition, they may have problems with social interaction and difficulties making friends. All of this can cause self-esteem issues and social anxiety. For these reasons, it is very important to have an early diagnosis.

I made this art thinking about my daughter, who often stopped participating in activities, playing and making friends because her voice was blocked by anxiety. I hope it serves as an awareness and reaches the eyes of those who need it.
