## Description

I originally photographed Elon inside this second-stage fuel tank at Spacex headquarters. The fuel tank suggests Spacex and space travel, of course. But it also reads like outer space itself, like a vast circular void populated by stars. The receding elements lead you towards this mysterious circle, this alien technology in the deep dark distance. And Elon in the foreground is the gatekeeper to this mystery, to this future. I also love that he showed up in basic jeans and a plaid shirt.

Creating the animation required building out the tank beyond the edges of the frame (in order to avoid empty areas when it rotates), then making 360 separate files to create a clean rotation that can loop endlessly. I edited the 360 files together and created the sound design to suggest the echo inside the tank and the infinity of space.
