## Description

Sometimes you wait so long for a moment that you are stunned into stillness as if lightning struck from a clear blue sky when it comes. That was something like what it was like creating this image. It took me almost a full year to work through the details of completing this artwork; I was so stunned that I didn't want the
work to be over.

A photograph of NYC from this perspective had been on my bucket list for years. It lends itself to my aesthetic of Comfortable Isolation, where I seek to isolate subjects in a more expansive, softer composition. That is the compositional aspect of comfortable isolation; its philosophy runs much more profound.

I grew up in New York, and I didn't become a photographer until after being stationed far, far away with the Air Force, but the big city's grandeur never left me. It continues to be a subject filled with compositions to study and photographs to create.

City of Dreams is a medium format photograph captured on the Fuji GFX100s platform. I captured it during NFT NYC 2021 from the Rockefeller Building's observation deck. City of Dreams has a composite sky that is perfectly blended, down to the pixel at 1200% zoom, to create the feeling of this photograph
