## Description

the tendons between us
maintained tension
by way of old memories

though
the potency of those
that were repeatedly excavated

lost novelty with each blow of dirt

we’d leave bars or parties
and wonder why

there was nothing to remember anymore
and why
it felt like our muscles were failing

under the weight of a laugh track
we no longer prompted
