## Description

I recorded the sound of cicadas
birthed and dying
one summer

because it sounded like applause
to eardrums unfamiliar with the sensation

I didn’t do much that would warrant praise
but maybe enough
to think that their fucking
or grinding of organs

was to commemorate my inconsequence
