## Description

I sold birds in balloons
like goldfish in bags at a county fair
in a strip mall next to a fast casual italian restaurant

i’d tie the string to their necks
when they were full of cheap pasta

hoping their esophagus would collapse
before death
and the balloon deflated

the balloon always deflated
and there was always more pasta to eat
