## Description

I watched a rat king lick a salt wheel
into a crown

that evening he devoured his creation

it wasn’t there in the morning

there were no subjects
and nothing to rule

just a tongue and its aimless fulfillment of a mineral delusion
and the glass of a neglected aquarium
that obscured
the empire that never was
