## About

Claire Silver is an anonymous artist who makes her work in collaboration with AI. She uses a pseudonym and an avatar in public, and sums up her view of the medium as "taste is the new skill." She works in oil, acrylic, collage, photography and digital media, and paints physical twins of some of her digital pieces. Her themes include vulnerability, trauma, disability, social hierarchy, innocence and divinity.

[*Genesis*](https://www.gondi.xyz/collections/genesis-by-claire-silver.md), unedited AI images put in sequence as one story about past, present and future, was minted on BrainDrops in 2021. [*AI Art is Not Art*](https://www.gondi.xyz/collections/ai-art-is-not-art-claire-silver.md) followed in 2022: 500 pieces that each blend several art movements, made with accessible AI tools plus hand painting and digital collage, as an answer to critics who said AI art takes no skill. [*corpo | real*](https://www.gondi.xyz/collections/corpo-real-by-claire-silver.md), an AI-collaborative fashion collection of 500 works, came out on BrainDrops in January 2024 and joins the ideas of the two earlier series.

In March 2022 Sotheby's London sold *Blood in the Streets, Late to the Ball*, a physical work made with AI and sold with an NFT. In 2023 LACMA named her among the artists in the Cozomo de' Medici donation and pledge of blockchain artworks. That year she and Emi Kusano made *Shinjitai* for Gucci, presented at Christie's Art+Tech Summit in New York. Christie's sold her work *daughter* in its Augmented Intelligence sale in 2025. In 2026 Plan X Gallery showed *Mary's Room* at Art Basel Hong Kong, a work in which an AI character named Mary writes a journal alone on a cliff by the sea. Her mind was trained on the diaries of Helen Keller and on Emerson, Plath and Salinger.
